Andy Garner and Gordon Barrs founded Elastic Mint in a bar. They had both worked as software developers for many years in both permanent and freelance positions. One thing was crystal clear to them both, there was a lack of experienced teams of developers capable of taking on businesses most critical business issues.
Andy has over 20 years of software development experience across many market sectors including, technology, retail, hospitality financial services and engineering. He has worked for globally recognised companies that lead their market sectors. These include Just Eat, ASOS, Capita and Microsoft.
As a founding Partner at Elastic Mint Andy is experienced at leading large teams of developers on behalf of clients as well as tackling complex software development challenges on his own as required.
Andy is particularly adept at leading complex bespoke software programmes to ensure the business requirement is delivered on time and in full. He is also a strong advocate in sharing knowledge with clients and bringing on less experienced members of their team so that they have the skills to continue developing and maintaining what is built.
Gordon has been a professional software developer for over 20 years. He has developed software for many companies including Just-Eat, ASOS, Tesco.com and Clarks.com. In recent years Gordon has been developing Cloud applications for deployment into Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.
Gordon is an experienced and very capable team leader as well as an exceptional software developer. He strongly advocates and establishes collaboration between developers and product stakeholders, excellence in technical practices and continuous improvement. These practices are core to the way Elastic Mint works with their clients because they have proved to be key ingredients in developing software that optimally meets the business requirement, whilst remaining easy to maintain and truly capable of being extended and adapted to meet future business needs.
